Job Title: Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk
Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our team. The AP Clerk will be responsible for managing and processing all accounts payable transactions within the company, ensuring accurate and timely payment to vendors, contractors, and suppliers. The role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, verify, and process invoices from vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Ensure accurate coding of expenses according to job codes and project numbers.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare and issue payments, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
- Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to confirm job costs and expenses.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end closing reports.
- Support audits by providing requested accounts payable documentation.
- Manage vendor relationships and address inquiries regarding payments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- Previous experience in accounts payable or a related field, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
