Accounts Payable Specialist

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

In this role you will work closely with the Accounts Payable team in a support capacity. You will be engaged in solving problems, handling disputes, as well as resolving escalations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the team in resolving issues and handling escalations.
  • Communicate with branches via email and telephone to resolve issues.
  • Respond to internal and external email in a timely manner.
  • Support team members.
  • Assist with month end duties.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong Excel skills required. Understanding V-Lookups and the filtering of data a huge plus.
  • Strong and accurate data entry skills required.
  • Strong communication skills via phone and email required. Call Center experience a plus.
  • Ability to work in a paperless environment.

  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong team player but also capable of working independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Detail oriented, ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Minimum 2 years proven work experience.
  • Accounts Payable experience is highly desired, but not mandatory.
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation or freight forwarding preferred.

ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. No travel will be required in support of the position's responsibilities.
