Overview

Moraine Park Technical College is establishing a candidate pool for potential part-time Adjunct Faculty positions in Health at the Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac, and West Bend campuses. These positions encompass Nursing, Nursing Assistant, and Surgical Technology. While specific positions may not be available at the moment, submitting your application will allow us to consider you for future opportunities that align with your skills and experience. Individuals must be residents of Wisconsin, Florida, or Arizona in order to be considered for employment as Adjunct Faculty at Moraine Park Technical College.  

 

The roles of Adjunct Faculty are part-time positions with flexible class assignments and varying locations each term. The adjunct faculty instructor may be assigned to teach at different sites within the Moraine Park District, including campuses and local high schools. There is a possibility of teaching during evenings, weekends, and online sessions. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Health, this individual plays a key role in delivering quality education within the district.

 

The candidate pool will be open from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. Job Qualifications:

  • For Nursing: Master's Degree in Nursing. If no Master's Degree, must expect to graduate from an accredited Master's Degree in Nursing program within one year. Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wisconsin, in good standing with clinical agencies, and have experience in the content area being taught. Must be in good standing with clinical placements.
  • For Nursing Assistant: Associate's Degree in Nursing. Must be an unencumbered, active Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wisconsin and have worked in long-term care for a minimum of two (2) years. Must meet Wisconsin's Department of Health Services (DHS) approval as a Primary Instructor Nurse Aid as defined in DHS 129.06 (1). Complete the Nursing Assistant Instructor Train the Trainer Course as required by DHS 129.06 (3) and be in good standing with the district wide clinical agencies.
  • For Surgical Technology: Associate Degree in Surgical Technology from an educational program. Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs in cooperation with Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Must possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
  • PT Faculty Occupational Experience Standards. Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, including one (1) year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five (5) years. In lieu of this one (1) year (2,000 hours) of recent experience, two (2) years of postsecondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five (5) years may be considered. (Two (2) years of post-secondary teaching experience means eight (8) semesters of part-time teaching or four (4) semesters of full-time teaching at an accredited institution.)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to convey ideas and concepts in a professional manner.  Ability to adjust to variance in communication and learning styles of students.  Ability and willingness to communicate regularly with students and other internal and external customers. 
  • Ability to understand and promote the educational philosophy and programs that MPTC offers. Willingness to grow and evolve with the College's educational philosophy. 
  • Experience working and participating in a team environment and collaborating with other individuals and teams to meet student needs. Willingness to help students and team members grow and learn. 
  • Experience with the MS Office Suite, the internet, and email.  Ability and willingness to learn new technologies.  Experience with online learning platforms and student management systems preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to continuously learn and accept constructive feedback.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Must be able to manage time and schedule effectively.  Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Previous community involvement and a desire to give back to the profession and community.
  • Must meet Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements as detailed in Chapter TCS 3 of the Wisconsin Administrative Code.
