Purpose of Position

The University of North Dakota is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking professional to join our team as the Assistant Director of Assessment, Accreditation & Analytics for the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD).

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the quality and integrity of CEHD's academic programs. As the Assistant Director, you will lead the college's accreditation and assessment processes, ensuring compliance with all institutional and specialized accreditation standards, and driving continuous improvement across all departments.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Accreditation
    • Support data collection and analysis of program, department and college-wide, and state data to inform state and national accreditation activities across the unit;
    • Utilize existing measures and create new measures for collecting data to support unit goals.
    • Facilitate and support the accreditation processes in preparation for scheduled site visits to maintain accreditation with state and national organizations;
    • Advise or support creation and maintenance of Quality Assurance Systems for meeting and exceeding accreditation standards; · Serve as ex-officio member of the Initial and Advanced Certification Assessment Committees
    • Coordinate sharing and review of data across all degree programs for program planning and continuous improvement with various stakeholder groups;
    • Working closely with directors, faculty, staff, and department chairs to facilitate implementation of program improvement resolutions;
    • In collaboration with degree and program coordinators, submit all required reports for state and national accreditation organizations after approvals;
    • Coordinate the drafting of state supports and submit state reports related to evolving standards and learning outcomes, including SPA program reviews;
  • Assessment
    • Develop and lead a systematic and integrated assessment and evaluation process to document effectiveness in achieving CEHD mission, vision, and goals;
    • Facilitate the Annual Program Review processes for the college;
    • Establish and identify assessment and evaluation activities in response to CEHD needs;
    • Ensure the office provides support to users of assessment software and provide technical assistance to program faculty, staff, students and school partners;
    • Review college-wide assessments to ensure validity and reliability;
    • Collaborate with faculty in the validity and reliability process for assessment development
    • Liaison and collaborate with college and university offices to create assessments, develop procedures, collect data for college-wide initiatives and reports;
    • Manage assessment software and provide technical assistance to program faculty, students and school partners;
    • Develop professional development for faculty and staff involved in the annual assessment of programs.
  • Analytics
    • Use quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze data and create detailed reports for programs, departments/schools, college, university leadership, and other internal and external stakeholders;
    • Support administration and faculty on data analysis and data-driven decision making for programs and courses;
    • Provide consultation to the Dean and other administrators related to data and assessment;
    • Provide professional development for faculty and staff involved in using PowerBI data for decision-making.
Required Competencies

  • Self-starter with initiative and ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives while working under minimal supervision.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree in education, assessment, or related field
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas: assessment of student learning or accreditation processes and requirements
  • Experience with data collection, analysis, interpretation, strategic planning, time management, and project management
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in related field
  • Expertise with multiple accrediting bodies in CEHD program areas (APA, CAEP, CAAHEP and/or other accrediting bodies)
  • Expertise in PowerBI and pulling data from database applications
