SUMMARY:

The assistant director will be a vital partner with the associate director, regional & young graduate engagement for Alumni Engagement. The position will be responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and implementing programs offered to young graduates, including program evaluation and outcome measurement, while fostering the growth of current programs, in order to enrich the constituents' lifelong relationship with the University.

This position entails direct management of volunteers, fiscal oversight of the program budget, and all facets related to programmatic management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Regional and Young Graduate Programming

  • Analyze data related to young graduates (up to 10 years post graduation), focusing on market segmentation, to advance current programs and develop new programs.
  • Conceptualize and execute programming for this population, overseeing all processes ranging from program development, event production, manual and document writing, and publications. A key priority in this programming will be increasing support for the goals of Alumni Engagement, Advancement, and the University.
Volunteer Management
  • Recruit, manage, and steward regional and young graduate volunteers, based on the principles of volunteer management, to successfully engage them in the life of the University.
Young Graduate Marketing and Communication
  • Develop, provide content, and maintain the young graduate presence on the alumni website and social media platforms.
  • Develop and provide content for the program portion of the website, including event information, online registration, and electronic correspondence.
Data Collection
  • Maintain, in conjunction with administrative assistant, records, paper, and data, related to events, including registration lists and attendee lists.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent volunteer management skills.
  • Excellent special event planning and facilitation, including liability and insurance protection best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, along with the ability to interact with diverse constituencies. Understanding of the importance of customer service.
  • High degree of comfort with technology, including social media platforms, and willingness to learn the functionality of new platforms.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including comfort level with public speaking.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, in conjunction with comfort level of working in fast-paced environment while handling multiple projects. Demonstrated solid problem solving skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft office software, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Accounting principles and recordkeeping also are essential.
  • Knowledge of constituent databases, including Blackbaud CRM, as well as web-based software, including Blackbaud Internet Solutions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Three years of progressive responsibility and leadership in a college/university alumni relations or parallel setting, or a combination of education and experience.
WORK HOURS:
  • Full-time, exempt position
  • Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week
  • Position requires travel on average 8-12 days of the month and comfort level with travel to major metropolitan areas
  • Position frequently requires work on evenings and weekends
  • Position requires work on reunion and homecoming weekend
SALARY STRUCTURE:

Pay Grade 6 (Hiring Range $47,154.00 to $62,483.00 annually)
