One Open-rank Career-Track Teaching Faculty Position
Job Summary
Oklahoma State University (OSU) in Stillwater, Oklahoma, is inviting highly motivated and qualified candidates to apply for an open-rank, career-track faculty (CTF) position within the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). This position, available at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Practice level, involves renewable, non-tenure track appointments that support OSU's programs and initiatives as part of the General Faculty at OSU. The assigned rank will be based on the candidate's teaching experience and technical qualifications within their professional field. Primary responsibilities include teaching lab-intensive undergraduate and/or graduate courses in ECE, covering topics such as electric circuits, microelectronics, analog and digital circuit design, robotics, VLSI, digital logic design, and embedded systems. The successful candidate will also act as an academic advisor for ECE students and participate in student-centered educational activities and outreach programs. The ECE department currently includes 19 full-time faculty members (one of whom is a CTF faculty member), 460 undergraduate students, and 70 graduate students. The department offers BS, MS, MEng, and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering, as well as a BS degree in Computer Engineering with an option in Software Engineering. The undergraduate programs are ABET accredited. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. The appointed candidates will be responsible for teaching courses in electrical and computer engineering and are expected to perform excellently at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Required qualifications include strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Practical engineering design experience in the industry or prior teaching experience in higher education is highly valued. Required Qualifications Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. or equivalent in electrical engineering or computer engineering, or closely related field. Successful candidates will be expected to teach electrical, computer and software engineering courses. Successful candidate will be expected to excel in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, advise graduate students, and serve the School and their profession. Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work individually and in teams are required.
