Overview
Job Summary
The Billing Clerk is responsible for managing and processing invoices, ensuring accuracy in billing, and maintaining financial records related to accounts receivable. This role plays a crucial part in the timely and accurate billing of clients and customers, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

  • The billing clerk will be responsible for the creation of a manifest and bills of lading for each customer order. Create a load temperature sheet for all drivers to sign and one for the driver to take. The billing clerk will communicate with carriers through email or phone regarding completion of a loaded trailer.
  • Use the loaders trailer load sheet and order sheets to verify the case counts of each individual product code matches what was scanned with what was loaded on the trailer.
  • Verify that the correct product dates based on customer requirements were shipped and when the order has no date restrictions verify that the oldest dates were shipped. If the oldest dates were left behind and not shipped notify shipping supervisor prior to any billing.
  • Help with the creation of the following labels as requested by the shipping supervisor and or load controller. Product code labels, pallet tags, bilingual labels, export labels and advance shipping labels.
  • Maintain a filling system of past order sheets, pick tickets, trailer load sheets and bills of lading.
  • Assist claims department and shipping supervisors with investigating carrier or customer reported shortages or overages. Assist claims department with questions regarding billing of customer orders.
  • Billing clerks that are trained in export procedures will coordinate with the corporate export department, load controller and distribution manager regarding planned export shipments. The billing clerk works closely with the USDA with applications and inspections along with the USDA Veterinarian when their signature is required on documents. The corporate export department will review and approve all documents including health certificates prior to transporting the export load.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work in a humid, cold, wet or slippery surface at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (P.P.E)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience/knowledge of manufacturing environment
  • Previous knife experience in manufacturing environment

  • Be attentive to detail
  • Ability to work safely, wear P.P.E, and follow instructions
  • Ability to attend work consistently
  • Display strong work ethnicity

Summary
America's Heartland Packing is set to open its doors in early 2025. The 775,000 sq. ft. greenfield project will include a harvest floor, carcass chillers, fabrication area, rendering, further processing area, storage coolers, freezers, and loading docks.
