This position supports our medical professional liability line of business and can be fully remote in the contiguous US.

Medical professional liability insurance experience is preferred. Policy and underwriting experience is ideal, but we will consider qualified candidates with experience in other areas of medical professional liability.

Please note this position does not have direct reports.

Job Summary:

The Business Product Manager II works directly with the BOLT Business Product Owner and BOLT Leadership Teams and is tightly integrated with key business and information technology stakeholders to audit, assess, and analyze current business system product requirements, processes, practices, and outcomes. The role leads discussions with senior level positions in various departments and then develops and delivers recommendations and documented strategic and tactical analysis based on desired or targeted outcomes. This position synthesizes in-depth technical knowledge of critical insurance systems and business functions (Underwriting, Claims, Business System Operations, Customer Service, etc) with existing and available technology solutions to partner and collaborate with identified business and information technology leads in aligning developed analysis with respective business and system objectives to plan and execute defined projects. The Business Product Manager II is accountable for regularly acting as the lead BOLT delegate in business unit meetings across business departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

40% - Product Enhancement Implementations:

  • Leads Project Management efforts including leading project kick-offs, project plans, task tracking, risk identification and resolution, and status reporting.
  • Participates in the collaborative citizen development and deployment of appropriate technology supporting data and workflows alongside the Information Technology department where appropriate.
  • Leads discussion and collaboration across multi-functional teams to identify and resolve obstacles, handle escalations, anticipate trade-offs, balance business needs with technical or resource constraints, and optimize benefits in order to enhance customer experiences.
  • Oversees user acceptance testing initiatives by coordinating test parameters creation that ensure partner requirements are addressed by the proposed solution design, tracking pass/fail test cases, and collaborating with Information Technology on system defect prioritization and ultimate resolution.
  • Partners with Instructional Experience team to help provide training and support to internal teams and customers on using digital document tools, ensuring ease of adoption and optimizing user experience.
30% - Strategic Product Vision and Analysis:
  • Manages collaborative engagement with information technology and business executives, leads and team members on strategic level projects to elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements and processes.
  • Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from identified desired outcomes.
  • Leads the design and implementation of intuitive and AI augmented business workflows that improve customer experience and reduce the need for manual support.
  • Leads conversations with business partners and Information Technology by creating contextualized analytical summaries, workflows, roadmaps, and conceptual data and process models.
  • Collaborates with operational, technology and compliance team members to ensure consultative recommendations are aligned with current practices, processes, systems, etc. as well as adhere to regulatory requirements and organizational preferences and standards.
  • Participates in the evaluation and analysis of the technological solutions in tight collaboration with Information Technology partners as part of the larger Business Operations, Logistics and Transformation ("BOLT") Citizen Collaboration development effort.
  • Participates analytical engagements with identified external and/or third-party vendor partners as required by inclusion in respective business requirements.
  • Actively develops new relationships and maintains and strengthens existing relationships with key stakeholders, product/process owners(s) and sponsor(s) throughout analysis.
25% - Leads Product Enhancement Prioritization and Support:
  • Oversees overall management and prioritization recommendations for the comprehensive backlog of requests for each business system product.
  • Proactively diagnose problems through research, analysis and understanding of complex processes and provide mentorship, leadership and training to team members throughout the defect analysis.
5% - Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform special projects or duties as directed by management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, insurance, information technology, or a relevant field preferred, with three plus years of experience in information systems, technical business analysis, or senior-level insurance functions or operations.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in insurance, financial, or related industry.
  • Business Analysis (CBAP), Product Owner (CSPO) or Project Manager (PMP) designation, or similar preferred.
  • ServiceNow certification/experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with business process innovation and technical automation solutions.
  • Experience working on multiple projects across varying sectors.
  • Possess strong writing skills and documentation acumen.
  • Keen awareness of regulatory compliance and system governance.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of the medical professional liability insurance industry preferred.
  • Professional experience working directly with leadership and management-level roles.
  • Demonstrated analytical and project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into business application and operational requirements and then communicate with information technology partners.
  • Knowledge and understanding of reporting and analytics; SQL querying skills a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management expertise.
  • Able to create, build and develop superior relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, as well as Zoom.

Position Salary Range$63,409.00 - $104,635.00The salary range displayed represents the entirety of the pay grade for this position. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have, your location and comparison to other team members already in this role.
