Hours: 7:30a-4:00p, 8:30a-5:00p, or 9:30a-6:00p, M-F

Length of Engagement: Open Ended Contract

Job Responsibilities:

The Cardiac Invasive Lab Tech performs multiple roles within the cardiac laboratory, including assisting physicians with invasive cardiac procedures and conducting various cardiac tests to monitor patients' heart and blood vessel conditions using diverse cardiology equipment. Responsibilities may also include:

• Preparing procedure rooms

• Prepping patients for procedures

• Obtaining and recording patient information

• Assisting physicians in procedures by circulating and scrubbing

• X-ray fluoroscopy proficiency

• Acquiring, measuring, and calculating hemodynamic data

• Performing blood work analysis

• Operating intracardiac ultrasound

• Cleaning procedure rooms and preparing instruments for re-sterilization

• Directs and practices safety guidelines for themselves, staff, and patients. Functions independently during diagnostics and interventions with minimal supervision. Maintains a high level of expertise in specialty procedures within their assigned lab. Within the Cath Lab, this may include structural procedures and hemodynamics; within the Heart Rhythm Services Lab, techs perform device and electrophysiology (EP) procedures, hybrid extractions, and operate 3D mapping systems. Will be required to work varied hours, shift lengths, and respond to an on-call pager, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.

• Supports research activities as requested.

Job Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology OR a radiography program OR transitioning from a Cardiovascular Tech (CVT) role and has successfully passed the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) exam to become a certified Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).

• At least one (1) year of vascular or cardiovascular lab experience preferred.

• Required: RCIS Certified or ARRT Certified, BLS required.

• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care.

• Maintains technical expertise through continuous education.

• Completes competencies.

• Follows all safety and procedure policies.

• Prepares for procedures.

• Handles post-procedure responsibilities.

• Manages communication.

• Performs to operational and urgent needs.

Certifications & Licenses:

• BLS

• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
