Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Centeroffers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.

What to Expect:

The CCBHC Continuous Quality Improvement Manager is responsible for development, implementation, monitoring, analysis, and reporting of appropriate methods of continuous quality improvement ("CQI") for all Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic ("CCBHC") metrics and standards. These responsibilities also apply to all other regulatory-compliance certification, and credentialing related to Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center ("Sandra Eskenazi MHC") CCBHC services and programs. This person serves as the lead for the Sandra Eskenazi MHC quality team. This position reports to the Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center Director of Clinical Services.

Am I Qualified?

  • Master's degree in public health, business administration, human services, statistics or related course of study
  • Five years of quality, data, and/or report-related experience within healthcare, behavioral health preferred
  • A minimum of two years of management/supervision experience

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Embraces, understands, and operates under the Recovery Model, including AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) and the spirit of motivational interviewing.
  • Has knowledge and expertise in all CCBHC standards, metrics, and technical specifications as outlined by the State of Indiana, SAMHSA, The Joint Commission and other entities overseeing CCBHC programs.
  • Writes, prepares, monitors, analyzes and present all CCBHC continuous performance improvement plans, quality assurance/quality improvement ("QAPI") plans, survey plans of correction, and other related actionable plans related to quality and compliance.
  • Supervises members of the Sandra Eskenazi MHC administration team who perform quality related functions.
  • Leads teams through standardized quality improvement methodologies and quality improvement cycles
  • May representative Sandra MHC in Eskenazi Health quality-related committees and workgroups to include QAPI quarterly meeting and Infection Control; and completes all data requests and reporting for those committees and workgroups.
  • Attends and data supports all Sandra Eskenazi MHC clinical committees, including Quality Council, Clinical Decision and Support, and other comparable committees.
  • Completes or facilitates Sandra Eskenazi MHC Senior Leader requested data pulls, subsequent data analysis, and report writing.
  • Provides input and recommendations to the Sandra Eskenazi MHC Senior Leadership for CCBHC quality and safety projects and initiatives.
  • Attends CCBHC data and quality-related meetings with the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction, Indiana Council, and other external agencies.
  • Works and collaborates with Eskenazi compliance, risk management, and other quality-related teams to ensure Joint Commission compliance and other regulatory compliance.
  • Works with the Sandra Eskenazi MHC clinical director and clinical psychologists to collect, evaluate, and report data related to CCBHC evidence-based practice fidelity and compliance.
  • Ensures ongoing monitoring, analysis and reporting of data related to meeting CCBHC clinic and state-collected metric targets monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
  • Integration with public health data as supplied through the State of Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction and other public health data systems/databases.
  • Identifies streamlining and process improvement opportunities in the data collection process which includes identifying successes, trends, and contributing factors then develops action plans, methods to control, target dates and conclusions.
  • Ensures targeted audits are completed as requested and as deemed necessary by leadership.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in interactions with a wide variety of individuals
  • Ability to present data at staff, peer, management and committee level
  • Knowledge of medical terminology; demonstrated competence/knowledge of healthcare field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality management processes
  • Strong computer and software skills (including Excel, Access, Visio, other reporting database management systems) required
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement / Performance Improvement process
  • Ability to work independently; ability to facilitate groups and work within teams
  • Ability to facilitate change
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate, organize and manage multiple tasks/priorities simultaneously with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively with complex tasks under pressure/time restraints/irregular schedules
