Eurofins DiscoverX Corporation is searching for a Scientist III based in San Diego CA.

The ideal candidate will be working in the cell based assay screening team and focus on SAFETYscan™ In Vitro Pharmacological Profiling Services and HTS screening campaigns. This position will be responsible for screening, analyzing and reporting cell-based assays and supporting the development of assays with an emphasis on ion channel targets and iPSCs..

Scientist III responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Running FLIPR and other 384-well plate based assays
• Focus on maintaining and screening of at least 7 cell lines for different ion channel targets
• Operation and routine maintenance of the automation systems.
• Support large HTS campaigns
• Independently optimize assay conditions to improve robustness
• Heavily involved in data management. Optimize workflow and remedy error prone steps.
• Independently analyze screening results, provide initial data QC using Spotfire, Graph Pad or other data visualization tools.
• Perform large scale data analysis and generate customer reports.
• Take charge of report writing and delivery. Be able to analyze and send out screening data, as necessary
• Work with team lead on launching routine screen for iPSC cardiomyocytes
• Support presentation at scientific meetings and provide promotional material to represent the company
• Work with IT team on implementation of extended reporting capabilities
• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
• Regular attendance and punctuality
• Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Owns the accountability and responsibility of delivering to client needs and timeliness
• Provides cross-functional support to other departments as required
• Adjusts work hours as needed to meet client deadlines
• Adheres to site employee health and safety (EHS) requirements

The ideal candidate would possess :

• Proven expertise with cell based signaling assays. Experience with engineered cell lines for GPCRs and ion channels.
• Strategic skills to support troubleshooting and optimization initiatives
• Skilled in data presentation & visualization and data management in a database environment.

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

• MS with a minimum of 5 years of experience or a PhD in cell biology or biochemistry with 0-2 years relevant industry experience in a HTS setting
• Skilled in biochemical and/or cell-based assay design, execution, analysis, and troubleshooting in a screening environment.
• Skilled with data analysis software (i.e. Excel/GraphPad Prism or similar).
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates living in the San Diego California area are encouraged to apply.
