The person will support a diverse group of investigators. Responsibilities will include study coordination and recruitment for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects. The person will work directly with study physicians, research coordinators, project managers and other research staff. Duties include: prescreen and schedule visits; recruitment and consenting of participants; organize and help maintain study documentation including, study logs, and entering data into databases; collect and review study data including chart reviews; process and ship study specimens including blood and tissue; participate in study team meetings and ongoing protocol training; perform administrative tasks to support the biobank. Hours may include evenings or weekend as necessary. Help advance the research mission of the Division and University.This position is contingent on funding.Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Prescreening of patients to assess enrollment criteria
  • Assist conducting study visits and procedures such as consent, documentation, tissue collection and processing biological specimens
  • Maintain research charts and binders
  • Perform general administrative duties to support study team
  • Data entry and database management for study participants
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: (Qualifications should clearly indicate those that are required and those that are preferred.)

H.S. Diploma or GED Required, with 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferably in healthcare or an academic research setting. Bachelor's degree preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently as well as part of a large interdisciplinary research team required. Experience working with a diverse population and explaining a complex study in lay terms is required. Knowledge of health care settings and IRB requirements is strongly desired. Solid organizational skills essential. Prior experience with research protocols, data analysis and conducting quantitative interviews with human subjects needed. Knowledge of electronic medical records and proficiency with MS Office suite needed; Candidate must be organized and able to prioritize. Candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively as a team, creatively problem solve and multi-task.
