Continuous Improvement Project Manager

Vertiv is looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager in Pelzer, SC who will be vital in fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency within an organization. The Continuous Improvement Manager plays a crucial role in identifying, developing, and implementing strategies to improve operational processes and systems within the organization. They are responsible for leading initiatives that drive efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assume a leadership role in planning, executing, and closing improvement projects within the Vertiv Operating System (VOS) department, collaborating with various leaders to achieve project goals.
  • Work closely with leaders from different departments, including End-to-end Transactional Process Improvement, Functional Excellence, Internal Governance, to understand project requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining scope, timelines, resource requirements, and deliverables. Execute projects according to established plans, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing issues to prevent delays or roadblocks. Implement contingency plans as needed to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to allocate and manage resources effectively, ensuring that project teams have the necessary support to meet project objectives.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for each project, providing regular reports to department leaders on project status, milestones achieved, and areas requiring attention.
  • Support leaders in change management efforts associated with improvement projects, assisting in the communication and adoption of new processes or frameworks.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within project teams, seeking feedback, and implementing lessons learned to enhance project management processes.
  • Collaborate with leaders from various departments to understand project requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8 years' experience of manufacturing continuous improvement and leading kaizen events
  • Six Sigma / Lean certifications / Project Management Professional (PMP or any other Project Management certification, preferred.
  • Smartsheet / Power BI experience
Required Experience
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in process improvement or organizational development projects.
  • Experience in implementing continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Prior experience using word processing, spreadsheet, statistical analysis, and presentation software.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, utilizing data-driven insights for decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, conveying complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to create and manage comprehensive documentation systems.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, planning, executing, and overseeing projects from conception to completion.
  • Experience leading change management initiatives, guiding teams through transitions.
  • Proven leadership skills, motivating and guiding cross-functional teams toward common goals.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
