The Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering is seeking outstanding candidates for the position of Coordinator for Student Success and Alumni Engagement. This role will enhance the student experience, strengthen alumni connections, and support the department's strategic goals in Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) and Engineering Technology and Management for Agricultural Systems (ETMAS). Under departmental administrative direction, this ideal candidate will perform activities related to teaching, advising and mentoring, academic program support, student success, and alumni engagement.

Responsibilities:

Teaching, Advising, and Academic Program Support (60%)

  • Co-teach the new undergraduate introductory seminar course in ETMAS.
  • Assist in teaching graduate seminar courses (ABE 502 and 503).
  • Assist in advising undergraduate students on academic progress, course selection, and career planning.
  • Support departmental student organization activities.
  • Manage the department undergraduate scholarship program.
  • Oversee department events (e.g., welcome celebration, career fairs, networking events, etc.).
  • Manage social media and website content for student resources and activities.
Alumni and Industry Engagement (35%)
  • Assist in developing and implementing alumni engagement strategies.
  • Support the department head and development office in cultivating key stakeholder relationships within relevant industries.
  • Coordinate department participation in events that engage corporate stakeholders.
  • Oversee alumni communications and events.
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
  • Participate in departmental committees.
  • Engage in professional development activities.
Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Higher Education Administration, Communications, or related field.

• Two years of experience in higher education (student affairs, teaching, or academic advising).

• Experience with social media platforms and content management systems.

• Demonstrated e xperience in event planning.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of the agricultural or biological engineering fields.

• Experience with student success initiatives.

• Experience in STEM academic program support or student services.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and social media management tools.

• Knowledge of best practices in student engagement and alumni relations.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. The budgeted salary range for this position is $50,000-$60,000. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
