Job Description: Finance Manager - Manufacturing**
*Key Responsibilities:
1. **Financial Planning and Analysis:**
- Develop and manage financial models to support business planning and forecasting.
- Analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and forecasting updates.
- Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to understand cost drivers and optimize the cost structure.
2. **Budgeting and Forecasting:**
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to ensure accurate and realistic budget assumptions.
- Monitor and report on budget performance, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess financial impact and risk.
3. **Cost Management:**
- Oversee cost accounting processes, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocation.
- Implement and maintain cost control measures to optimize production costs and improve profitability.
- Analyze and report on product cost structures, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
4. **Financial Reporting and Compliance:**
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
- Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements.
- Maintain internal controls over financial reporting, safeguarding company assets and ensuring data integrity.
5. **Cash Flow Management:**
- Monitor and manage the company's cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs and investments.
- Develop cash flow forecasts and manage working capital to optimize cash positions.
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions.
6. **Strategic Financial Guidance:**
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management to support decision-making and long-term planning.
- Analyze investment opportunities, capital expenditures, and potential mergers or acquisitions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development, pricing strategies, and market expansion.
7. **Team Leadership and Development:**
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and best practices in financial management.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle), and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience managing and developing a finance team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
