The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.

The organization provides leases and loans (collectively "credit") to clients, to meet client needs for vehicle fleets and other equipment financing.

The Director - Credit Services is responsible for the review of the organization's credit portfolio on a continuing basis in order to prevent or ameliorate credit losses; assure documentation is in compliance with credit committee approvals, state and/or federal regulations; assist in detection of deterioration in credit quality; and review and ensure internal compliance objectives are met.

What will you do?

  • Oversee the full range of managerial duties for the credit review and approval (initial and ongoing), compliance, collections and credit analysis functions including adherence to policies and practices of the organization and applicable regulatory and governmental agencies.
  • Implement a system of credit analysis and quality assurance for credits made as required by board directives; assign ratings as needed in conjunction with credit loss reserve analysis.
  • Applies a similar system for suppliers, particularly suppliers whose products are resold by the organization to clients.
  • Examine files periodically for assurance of credit and collateral documentation, regulatory compliance and credit policy conformance; review technical exceptions and deficiencies; maintain reports of continued outstanding exceptions to the Board of Directors.
  • Prepare written analyses on all large credits, aggregate lending vs. indebtedness for individual borrowers, complex credits and weak credits.
  • Identify problem credits, make recommendations for assignment of credits to review credit list that is reviewed quarterly with the board; discuss the status of problem credits with the CFO, senior lending officers and General Counsel, and may make recommendations regarding the future credit information needs; identify credits meeting non-accrual or charge-off criteria.
  • Provide quarterly analyses of the adequacy of the allowance for credit losses for board discussion.
  • Prepare periodic board reports.
  • Prepare periodic studies of various portions of the credit portfolio including past due reports, concentrations of credit, etc. for the benefit of supervisory and executive officers.
  • Evaluate and recommend policy changes based on compliance or credit reviews and the dissemination of other pertinent facts.
  • Works closely with the organization's Finance, Sales and Legal Functions, on initial structure and terms of credits.
  • Works closely with the Legal Function, relative to credit restructurings, workouts, collections and bankruptcies, as well as communicating credit policies, procedures, standards, needs to the business units, and assisting using technology to bring credit review and contract approval workflow out of email and into Salesforce.
  • Coordinates with Treasury and the Legal Function, to support Treasury activities, such as ABS placements and bank facilities.
  • Ability to travel 10 -25% of time - domestically and international.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in a financial leadership role
  • 5+ years of experience with credit markets and risk management
  • Knowledge of state of the art credit tools and processes
  • Strong critical thinking skills, a high level of emotional intelligence, and integrity
  • Expertise in Financial Management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Has acquired business acumen, leadership experiences, and strategic agility

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $255,870.00 - $402,995.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay and bonus earnings.
