Job purpose

The SPS Financial Analyst is a diverse role accountable for financial close, reporting, analytics and planning for our Instantel brand, management of the SPS global commission plans and participation in various special projects. The role will partner with the functional/business leaders, shared services and controllership to provide finance support for Instantel and calculate the monthly / quarterly variable incentive for our global Sales organization.

This is a hybrid role based in our Fishers, IN office, with an in-office presence required three days per week.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Analyze month-end results, prepare journal entries as needed and monthly results variance analysis for review with business and Finance leadership
  • Partner with various functional leaders to assist with weekly, monthly reporting of business KPI's and help develop quarterly forecasts and annual budget
  • Calculate monthly variable compensation payments for the SPS global sales organization; submit calculations for payment and help with updates and distribution of annual compensation plans
  • Foster a positive team environment
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting requests and drive standard reporting where applicable
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required
  • Undergraduate degree preferably in business, accounting or economics or 3+ years of applicable experience in lieu of degree
  • 3+ years' experience in Finance / Accounting
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • The ideal candidate will be a motivated, detail, process oriented individual; a strong finance background with experience in financial results analysis, profitability analytics and financial planning and reporting
  • Experience with variable compensation plans is preferred but not required
  • Comfortable in a fast paced and changing environment. Experience in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to meet strict and challenging deadlines under pressure
  • Demonstrated record of change management successes & program management skills
  • Articulate and effective communication skills with an appreciation for cultural dynamics
  • Ability to gain trust and confidence and must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
