ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY : Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Operations, the Housing & Conference Coordinator leads the housing assignment process, all conference-housing programs, and all housing marketing efforts.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

  • Oversees the entire housing assignment process and management of the Star Rez database
  • Maintains and updates the housing calendar and important deadlines
  • Manages all data website portal application information for student housing and conferences
  • Meets with students and/or parents to discuss housing and roommate concerns
  • Being flexible and responsive to new challenges and customer expectations.
  • Conducts orientation sessions for new, returning, and international residents
  • Serves as the liaison for domestic and international conference groups and provides after-hours and weekend support as needed
  • Completes apartment move-out and transfer inspections, including light room and or apartment cleaning if needed
  • Provides weekly housing occupancy reports to the Director and yearly housing reports to California State University system
  • Leads on-campus information sessions
  • Serves as the liaison between Foundation Housing and other campus partners
  • Coordinates and implements annual multi-media marketing documentation for international student housing programs as well as summer conference housing programs
  • Actively recruits and oversees summer conference programs
  • Coordinates with the Associate Director to recruit, train, and supervise summer conference assistants
  • Trains Residential Education, Information Technology, and Operations staff on housing assignment policies and procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Two/four years of office front facing customer service experience is highly preferred.

ABOUT US : As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.

The Foundation also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Foundation and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics. In addition, the Foundation administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Foundation contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.
