Job Summary/Basic Function:
The HR Programs & Projects Specialist supports implementation of HR programs and activities including documentation, reporting, coordination of training and tracking efforts, and collaborating with campus partners.

Level Scope:
A fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry-level professionals and/or support employees.
Essential Functions:
60% of the time the Programs & Projects Coordinator must:
• Plan, manage, and support the implementation of benefit programs and other related initiatives, including Fiscal Year initiatives, Optional Retirement Plans, and the Employee Self-Service projects.
• Coordinate processes, documentation, and reporting while serving as a benefits data analyst. This involves evaluating results, providing insights, addressing project challenges, and offering guidance to identify optimal solutions for benefits-related issues. Additionally, contribute to problem-solving efforts to ensure effective and efficient resolutions. Provide technical support and assistance for development, maintenance, testing, and quarterly patch activities, acting as primary tester for HCM systems, specifically the benefits module.
• Oversee benefit department processes by tracking reports related to eligibility, warnings, and errors, serving as a primary owner and business process lead for payroll and open enrollment.
• Collect and compile key benefits metrics and data from a variety of sources, including HRIS and payroll outputs, benefits enrollment records, and other sources.
• Deliver internal training on new programs, processes, and procedures, acting as a Benefits Subject Matter Expert (SME) for HCM patch activities. Provide training to benefit staff on patches, as needed.
• Serve as back-up support for team members, offering customer-facing assistance during open enrollment periods or when the team requires additional support.
35% of the time the Programs & Projects Coordinator will:
• Assist with testing and quarterly patch updates for Bronco Hub/HCM.
• Serve as a point of responsibility for handling employee benefit transactions for each payroll.
• Take on as a primary role in reviewing retro payments for each payroll.
• Assist with Imputed Income Reconciliation in a secondary capacity at the end of the calendar year.
• Support the monthly reconciliation of benefit vendor accounts as a secondary point of responsibility.
5% of the time the Programs & Projects Coordinator will:
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving benefits administration labor.
• Knowledge of employee benefits principles, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience equal to 6 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
• At least one year of work experience using Excel.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the HRIS, and similar human resource management software and practices.
Salary and Benefits:
