Overview

SUMMARY

BERING GLOBAL SOLUTIONS, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified HVAC MECHANIC for BUILDING OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE SERVICES at the BRUCE R THOMPSON FEDERAL COURTHOUSE, 400 S. VIRGINIA ST., RENO, NV 89501. This person will be required to do routine maintenance tasks on fans & machinery within the building, maintain lighting, plumbing and minor electrical issues.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

• Daily inspect mechanical rooms & equipment and note operation status of each mechanical item.
• Log onto the work order system and record daily work record, sign off completed work orders, communicate ongoing work orders
• Communicate any anomalies with equipment to the supervisor
• Maintain and monitor settings on the building automation systems

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO's)

• EPA Refrigerant Certification Universal
• 5 years' experience with building maintenance or construction. Preferable high-rise buildings.
• Pass a drug/background check
• Reliable transportation to work.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

• EPA REFRIGERANT CERTIFICAITON UNIVERSAL
• Plumbing skills, experience with pumps & motors
• Electrical skills, can replace lighting ballast and switches/receptacles

Preferred

• Carpenter skills
• Locksmithing abilities/knowledge
• Automation systems/controls knowledge
• Pipefitting/welding/sweating pipe

NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The job will require climbing a ladder up to 15 feet at times to reach lighting. You must be able to carry an eight-foot ladder to locations throughout the building, Some areas will require stooping and bending to reach affected machinery.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The use of many hand tools is required and are supplied by the employer. Personal conduct is highly important to maintain a professional manner when working among other office employees & tenants. Personal hygiene and appearance is to be kept at the highest standard. Uniforms with company logo will be supplied.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required.
