United States - WI - Eden

The hydrate operator will use computer-controlled hydration systems and related equipment; maintain product quality; troubleshoot equipment to improve efficiency and product quality. Duties are usually performed during a 12 hour rotating shifts. Plant runs 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate computer-controlled systems for hydrator operation with a full understanding of the process, equipment, and associated controls & instrumentation
  • Perform product sampling
  • Maintain shift records of operational, environmental, and safety data
  • Strict adherence to all safety & environmental rules
  • Perform routine equipment inspection, lubrication, & minor maintenance
  • Perform routine clean-up of assigned areas
  • Assist maintenance personnel as required
  • Tolerate intermittent exposure to temperature extremes, dust, noise, and vibration
  • Work in adverse outdoor weather conditions
  • Position includes a lot of walking, climbing ladders and stairs
  • Assist in loading trucks, rail cars, bags, and other duties as directed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or 2 years of industrial experience
  • Possess good math skills including four basic arithmetic functions and common units of measurement
  • Possess computer skills sufficient to work with JDE, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Able to access and work in ALL areas of plant which include heights up to 125' above ground level, and confined spaces
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing or moving of 50 pounds minimum
  • Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions, and respond accordingly
  • Knowledge of lubrication and service requirements of machinery
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate front-end loader, skid-steer loader, track mobile and forklift
  • Ability and willingness to be cross-trained in other job functions
  • Ability to work as part of a team and work independently
  • Ability to fill in for other shifts; potentially nights or weekends as necessary
  • Must possess the ability to read and write the English language to effectively interpret manuals, regulations, reports; must have the ability to complete various types of paperwork.
