The Continuous Improvement & Training Office (CIT) at Florida State University, part of the Office of Human Resources, is dedicated to advancing the strategic goals of FSU. CIT focuses on delivering comprehensive workplace training and professional development opportunities to enhance the performance and personal growth of University employees.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an intern to support the development and redesign of online courses, remote learning opportunities, and new employee orientation. The intern will collaborate with the CIT Training Team to deliver high-quality online courses and ensure project timelines are met. Responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, benchmarking, assisting with instructional design projects, reviewing and editing courses for quality and accessibility, and updating presentation templates and training guides. The intern will gain practical experience and mentorship in instructional design, focusing on professional practices and emerging trends in the public sector.

  • Collaborate with the CIT Training Team to research, develop training materials, and create professional presentations.
  • Enhance existing online content to increase engagement and knowledge retention.
  • Work with internal subject matter experts to develop new content and convert existing content into online formats.
  • Design, develop, or update CANVAS course sites for training programs.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of current programs.
  • Review and apply emerging trends in eLearning, instructional design, universal design, and accessibility.
  • Participate in course evaluation reviews.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications and eLearning authoring tools to prepare documents and presentations.
  • Ability to produce professional level summary reports of work completed
Qualifications

Must have a bachelor's degree and be currently enrolled in FSU's Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies (ISLT) Graduate Program

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong enthusiasm for creating high-quality online courses and engaging learning experiences.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently.
  • Commitment to delivering a positive customer experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technology. For example, Canvas, eLearning authoring tools, and other educational technology tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent follow-through, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Instructional Design Knowledge: Understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Other: Hands-on experience using Qualtrics evaluation software.

Anticipated Salary Range

Salary: $18.75/hour

Considerations

This is an OPS/temporary job.

Based on the duties, this position may require completion of a criminal history background check.

Internship will be a minimum of one semester beginning Fall Semester 2024.

Schedule: 150-hour requirement. Preference will be given to students willing to complete at least 10 hours/week over 15 weeks. The internship will satisfy the ISLT Program internship requirement.
