The Computer Science and Engineering department is home to 9 Professors, 11 Associate Professors, 7 Assistant Professors, 5 Lecturers, over 100 Ph.D. students, over 180 master students, and over 1300 bachelor students. We offer a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering, M. S. degrees in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Data Engineering, ABET-accredited B. S. degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, an ABET-accredited B. A. degree in Information Technology, and a new B. S. degree in Cybersecurity. Position Overview
The Computer Science Engineering Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Scientific Instrument Technician to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Performing maintenance and construction of complex electronic and digital equipment for use in laboratory instruction or projects. More specifically, the equipment to be maintained includes computer systems, embedded controllers, oscilloscopes, and other measurement instruments, breadboarding, and development systems. Install, repair, and troubleshoot equipment in research laboratories and other departmental facilities. Work performed is subject to inspection and approved by departmental personnel for whom the work is performed. Most work is performed independently but receives general supervision from the Department Chair or delegated supervisor. Supervise student workers, teaching assistants, and other technicians when assigned to perform laboratory maintenance and development.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in related field and two years' of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
