Job Summary:
The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin regional health network is a partnership between Froedtert Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin supporting a shared mission of patient care, innovation, medical research and education. Our health network operates eastern Wisconsin's only academic medical center and adult Level I Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, an internationally recognized training and research center engaged in thousands of clinical trials and studies.
Interventional Radiology at Froedtert is a nationally renowned program that treats over 9,000 patients a year through the full spectrum of IR procedures including Vascular Interventional, Neuro Interventional, Oncology, GI/GU, Reproductive and Musculoskeletal procedures. There are three biplane imaging systems, four single plane imaging systems, two hybrid OR imaging systems and a state of art interventional CT suite. Technologists work as a critical member of a highly skilled team and are specialized into Neuro or Vascular Interventional, with some working in both areas. There is a professional development growth pathway for IR Technologists in promotion to a Level 2 or Level 3 Technologist when demonstrating qualities such as engagement in the department, positive attitude and advanced level of practice. The academic medical center setting allows staff to foster the growth of residents, medical students, Radiologic Technology interns and Interventional Radiology interns, among others.
Assists physicians with performance of interventional radiographic and related procedures for diagnostic interpretation and/or therapeutic interventions. Responsible for preparation, documentation of inventory of materials, supplies and coding used for interventional radiology services. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Additional technical courses and experience with progressive responsibility and experience in IR/NIR and or Cath Lab is required.
One year of experience in an IR or Cath Lab setting OR completion of the FMLH IR Internship is required.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Completion of (minimum) a 2-year, approved, program in Radiologic Technology is required.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
In-depth knowledge of the operation of interventional radiographic and related diagnostic and therapeutic equipment/supplies.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
ARRT registered and current State of Wisconsin license as a Radiographer required.
Advanced certification through ARRT in ARRT-CI or ARRT-CV or ARRT-VI is required within 12 months of hire.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within three months of hire.
