Job Opportunity: JOC Junior Estimator with K-12 Experience

Location: Houston, TX (clear lake)

About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Junior Estimator with experience in Job Order Contracting (JOC) and K-12 projects to join their team in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for someone with a background in estimating for educational facilities and a strong understanding of JOC processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for K-12 construction projects.
• Collaborate with project managers and senior estimators to develop accurate and competitive bids.
• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
• Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software.
• Assist in negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain the best pricing and terms.
• Support the project team in monitoring and controlling project costs throughout the construction phase.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements.

Ideal Candidate:

• 2-3 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically with K-12 projects.
• Familiarity with Job Order Contracting (JOC) processes and procedures.
• Strong plan, reading skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
