The Mayborn School of Journalism is an ACEJMC-accredited school with Texas's only accredited journalism master's program. We are located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, in the fifth largest media market in the country. We enroll approximately 800 undergraduate and graduate students. UNT is categorized as an R1 (Very High Research Activity) institution by the Carnegie Classifications of Institutions of Higher Education.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Overview
The Frank W. & Sue Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas in Denton invites applications for a continuing, professional track lecturer in digital communication analytics to begin in the Fall 2025 semester.
This full-time faculty member will play an essential role in the dynamic, interdisciplinary Master of Science in Digital Communication Analytics program within the Frank W. & Sue Mayborn School of Journalism.
The anticipated instructional needs include, but are not limited to, teaching courses in social media analytics, data visualization, data wrangling, statistical analysis and new course development. An ideal candidate is committed to teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds and working collaboratively with other Mayborn faculty to improve the program.
Candidates are expected to carry a course load of four (4) classes per semester and participate in departmental service activities. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
