This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

This Maintenance Mechanic troubleshoots and repairs electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide preventative maintenance electrical or mechanical operation.
  • Ability to install /maintain hydraulic equipment, pumps, motors, cylinders.
  • Troubleshoot or repair mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to change out or set up equipment, i.e., mixers, pumps, processing equipment.
  • Must be able to change out and set-up equipment for operation.
  • Must be able to perform minor prefab and run machine shop equipment.
  • Personnel are responsible for cleaning their work area.
  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements
  • Perform all positions of job rotation as needed
  • General knowledge of gear drives and conveyors, required
  • General knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, required.
  • Able to work weekends, and holidays, required.
  • Able to complete all paperwork CMMS/SAP functions
  • Must be able to work overtime if required.
  • May be subject to call back on weekends and holidays .
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • The Team Member will work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • The Team Member will use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination, simultaneously
  • The Team Member will reach high and low levels, frequently.
  • Must be willing and able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 40 pounds frequently
  • Must be willing and able to lift with arms up to floor to waist and waist to shoulder up to 40 pounds.
  • The Team Member will constantly stand/stoop/walk/bend up to 10 hours.
  • The Team Member will climb stairs.
  • The Team Member will work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 10 degrees.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 6 months of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months)

This location currently at this time is not accepting rehires, candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods.

Tuesday- Saturday 2ND and 3RD SHIFTS

Sunday-Thursdays 2ND and 3RD SHIFTS

Monday- Friday 2nd Shifts
