Job Summary
Excellent opportunity for a Seasoned Mammographer to take the next step in their career! The Radiology Breast Imaging Health Navigator, a mammography technologist certified as a Breast Health Navigator, is responsible for assuring competent, compassionate care for patients and families in the Breast Imaging Department. The Breast Imaging Navigator will assure the proper preparation of patients for breast imaging exams and procedures, facilitate expeditious scheduling of patients including all breast procedures, perform pre-procedure assessments and provide patient instructions, provide care for patients during procedures as needed, assist the radiologists in managing any procedure-related complications, provide post-procedure instructions, follow up with patients, communicate pathology results to patients, maintain and update patient medical record including addenda to radiology reports with pathology, and breast reporting system with pathology results. The technologist navigator functions as the point person in the division for patient education, patient safety, and will assist breast imaging patients in need of immediate care, working with the radiologists, staff, and NWH medical response team when necessary. The navigator will report directly to the Operations Manager on-site.
Qualifications
Licenses Required: • DPH/State of MA Radiation Control Board - Radiologic Technologist License in Radiology and Mammography • ARRT (R),(M) Certifications Required: • Certified Breast Health Navigator ( must be obtained within 18 months of date of hire). • CPR certification
