Description:
  • Full Time - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Location: Silver Spring, MD
  • Supply Chain Management Department
  • Position is responsible for ensuring integrity and management of the warehouse functions, and the oversight and completion of all stock replenishment for the General Medical Surgical, Intensive Care, and Emergency Departments.
  • This position reports to the Director of Supply Chain Management
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates, develops, and maintains appropriate inventory supply through manipulation of re-order points, re-order quantities and ensuring levels maximize the benefits associated through our main medical suppliers.
  • Ensure cycle counting initiatives are maintained and implemented to optimize system integrity.
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing standards and measurement tools for performance and quality outcomes.
  • Plans, organizes and controls material movement throughout the hospital and designated offsite facilities.
  • Develops and coordinates work schedules and staff assignments.
  • Meets regularly with supply chain customers to request feedback on service levels and adjusts service and PAR levels, as needed.
  • Ensures all receiving standards and practices are followed to maximize supply flow and reduce production discrepancies, by ensuring the customers are kept informed of supply issues such as manufacturer backorders and product conversions.
  • Evaluates, develops, and implements distribution policies, procedures, and goals to ensure consistency with departmental and organizational goals.
  • Will ensure assignments are completed, PAR locations are updated and maintained, will work closely with Supply Service Team, Sourcing Analysis, Inventory Control to address stock supply issues.
  • Supervises staff, assesses, and documents staff competencies and ensures appropriate staffing levels in accordance with department staffing plans/manpower budget.
  • Maintains access to all Secure Environments (e.g. Pharmacy IV fluid restocking) secures all access codes from public view and prevents any secured door from being propped open.
  • On a quarterly basis conducts vendor quality review to determine if the level of service is meeting department/customer expectations.
  • Works with the Director, Sourcing Analysis, and Inventory Control to ensure product conversions, manufacture backorders, and PAR changes are planned, organized, implemented, evaluated to ensure the department is providing consistent and sustainable delivery of service.
  • Ensures that department places the correct product, at the correct price, in the correct locations.
  • Ensures material is procured on purchase orders, and discrepancies are resolved.
  • Ensures that all assignments are completed on time and at the appropriate supply levels, thus reducing OT, freight cost, and services charges associated with expediting supplies.
What you will need:

Required:
  • A minimum of five years Materials Management supervisory experience including warehouse, receiving and distribution experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of hospital equipment and supplies.
  • Excellent business math, verbal, and written communications ability.
  • Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to strategize product placement to ensure the most efficient and effective location of product and use of space.
  • Hands on, proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite computer programs i.e. Excel, Word, and Power Point, Access.
  • Group Wise, Internet Applications and Automated Materials Management applications programs.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, Economics, or related field preferred.
