RESPONSIBILITIES:
A client with Kforce is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join their team onsite in Orlando, FL. This role will work onsite 9am to 6pm.Summary:This person should be able to performs complex re-design and development efforts for mechanical/structural systems of the theme park venues to provide increased safety, reliability and operational improvements. All work shall be in conformance with the engineering drawing standard, ASME Y14.5, ASTM F24 committee guidelines and other applicable codes. The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for initiating sketches and notes that will evolve into detail and assembly type drawings with minimal supervision from the Design Supervisor, Lead Designer, or Engineers. Projects will include initial design and re-design of mechanical, structural, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. This includes acting as a liaison with client partners and external fabrication/installation vendors.Responsibilities:- Reviews and provides approval as the design checker on ECN documents after qualification by the design supervisor
- Completes moderate to complex design projects for mechanical and structural systems at the Rides and Attractions to enhance guest comfort, reliability, quality, and safety
- Projects involve standard for fabrication and machining practices, including GPS, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, AWS, and OSHA, among others
- Assists Engineers and observations, field measurements, troubleshooting, problem, solving, design, and testing
- Serves as a vendor interface, resolving production problems with client vendors
- Plans and lays out project tasks with little or no supervision
- Provides design review support to other designers for accuracy tolerance- stack-up form and fit ease of manufacture and cost effectiveness
- Assists QC and/or field technicians with information and drawing clarification and necessary
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years of total experience is required in design, support and installation of dynamic mechanical structural, pneumatic and/of hydraulic integrated systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of technical theme park design work including technical writing, knowledge of composite Materiels, reverse engineering, and industry standards
- A clear understanding of GD & T
- Excellent computer and communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Highly developed organizational skills
- Flexibility and multi-tasking ability
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
