What You Will Contribute:


The Badger Meter Internship Program provides hands-on, real-world experience to students through projects that make a difference! In addition to your projects, you will be given the opportunity to participate in our robust Intern program focused on Badger Meter Culture, professional development, community outreach and a final capstone project.

Badger Meter is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will assist the Mechanical Engineering department on design projects as necessary. The intern will be working directly with senior engineers and designers to learn industry practices and implement them in daily work. This position will largely be responsible for testing flow metering technology. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will also share responsibility for preparation and reporting of our Design Verification Plan & Report process for New Product Development. The intern will collaborate with different departments including Marketing and Electrical Engineering around product development and quality.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Checking engineering drawings, parts lists, and test sheets for accuracy and thoroughness
  • Creating and/or modifying component and assembly models using CAD
  • Conducting all drawings, and print work in Creo
  • Potential to complete design projects in CAD
  • Conducting engineering verification testing as directed by lead engineers
  • Organizing test data and presents reports back to the engineering team
  • Additional projects, tasks, and/ or assignments as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Intermediate computer/technical skills in Microsoft products
  • Basic understanding of CAD
