Description: Our client is currently seeking a MRI Technician in Albuquerque, New Mexico!

Job Title: MRI Technician

Job Type: Contract

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico 87106

Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday - Thursday)

Rate: Competitive & Dependent on Experience

Specific Duties:

• Perform MRI cross-sectional imaging and related procedures as directed by a licensed physician. Operate and monitor MRI equipment, programming the machine to the proper voltage, current, and exposure time as dictated by the physician.
• Explain testing procedures to patients, position them, and instruct them on preparation for the MRI test. Assign and/or delegate duties to qualified and/or licensed technologists.
• Monitor the patient's condition before and after the scan to ensure safety and comfort. Accurately administer contrast media under the direction of a Radiologist, both manually and with a pressure injector.
• Prioritize workload based on departmental needs and follow through in a timely manner. Attend and participate in professional meetings. Maintain credentialing and/or licensures.
• Enforce magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operators, and visitors. Monitor and maintain safety concerning the magnetic field at all times. Maintain patient logs, equipment service manuals, delivery schedules, and all related statistics.
• Deliver quality patient care and services in accordance with regulated standards. Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences or equivalent
• Current BLS Certification, ARRT (MR) Certification
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to prioritize workflow and function independently

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree
• One (1) year of experience as an MRI Tech in a clinic or hospital environment.
