Salary: $100,000.00 USD Annually - $110,000.00 USD Annually
Description: Our manufacturing client is currently seeking a Multi-Site Quality Assurance Manager to lead Quality operations in their Bloomington and Odon IN plants. The Quality Assurance Manager will be a key interface between the Bloomington/Odon facilities and their internal & external customers. The position will be responsible for working closely with operating personnel and customers to ensure quality product. This position will use statistical methods to track and analyze production results for quality as well as responding to and resolving customer needs.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance the quality program to ensure compliance with customer specifications and company standards.
  • Lead the design and implementation of quality assurance systems, addressing quality issues with manufacturing, vendors, and customers.
  • Set quality objectives and collaborate with production to enhance product reliability and reduce costs.
  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to assess current standards and establish quality and reliability expectations for finished products.
  • Supervise employees involved in testing and inspection to ensure quality control over materials and products.
  • Manage the Customer Improvement Opportunities (CIO) system and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Investigate root causes of customer complaints regarding quality and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure product safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee activities to maintain ISO 9001/SQF/IMS compliance, including document control, internal audits, HACCP, and management reviews.
  • Collaborate with plant personnel and sales/customer service teams to address quality issues.
  • Assist sales executives by addressing quality-related concerns with customers or potential customers.
  • Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability.
  • Maintain production records for traceability and evaluation of products and processes.
  • Serve as the backup SQF Practitioner for the Bloomington/Odon, IN facilities.
  • Ensure the safety of all employees under their supervision through active engagement in safety activities and clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
  • Investigate and address situations where line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived imminent safety risks.
  • Fulfill responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Lead risk assessment activities within their area of responsibility, driving corrective and preventive actions to eliminate or reduce environmental, health, or safety risks.
  • Conduct all required safety meetings (e.g., pre-shift, department, change management, general communication, town hall, etc.).
  • Complete incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions promptly and thoroughly.
  • Ensure proper training and development of all assigned employees.
  • Set and achieve goals for their organizational unit, ensuring all employees understand and work towards these goals.
  • Motivate and coach employees through effective communication and frequent performance feedback, identifying and coordinating additional training as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Preferred: B.A./B.S. in Engineering, Operations, or Management, or equivalent experience in manufacturing, project management, quality assurance, or operations management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in implementing and managing quality systems.
  • Prior manufacturing experience with substantial customer interaction.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and guide employees.
  • Proven track record of continuous quality improvement and achieving goals.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and software skills.
  • Results-oriented with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Understanding of process and equipment capabilities.
  • Experience in the plastics industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and SQF standards and policies.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
