The nurse practitioner will provide ongoing psychiatric and medical assessments, case management, psychopharmacological treatment including prescribing medications ordering medication, medication management, and monitoring of non-psychiatric medical conditions and medications.
Qualifications
• A current or imminent unrestricted national nurse practitioner board licensure with prescriptive authority.
• Education: Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited National League of Nursing graduate school
• License/Certification: License/Certification: Required board certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP)
• Minimum of 24 months experience in an adult inpatient psychiatric setting or related experience.
• Experience in an Emergency Room is recommended.
• Skills: Self-motivated individual who has the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the interdisciplinary clinical team and community-based healthcare organizations. This individual needs to have good organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and the ability to be flexible. They must be able to manage irregular or extended hours when necessary to ensure a safe/therapeutic-staffing pattern. Energy level must be sufficient to accomplish tasks under stress, maintain appropriate professional demeanor and maintain safety when interacting with clients. They must have the stamina, energy, and motivation to perform various tasks and interventions with clients in the community. They must have experience with assessment, diagnosis, appropriate documentation, and providing psychopharmacological treatment.
• Ability to work independently and proactively address problems, and also work as a member of a multidisciplinary integrated team.
• All employees must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication, clinical and administrative purposes.
• Required to complete electronic medical records training and demonstrate 80% accuracy on competency test within 30 days of hire.
