Description: Our client is currently seeking a Director of Nutrition (Nutritionist) to be based out of their Evansville IN location. The Nutritionist will play a critical role role in producing high quality food products. This professional should have strong knowledge of nutrition related sciences and recipe formulation.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Formulate AAFCO/States compliant high quality, nutritious recipes.
• Ensure company standards and product requirements are met in each of our recipes.
• Maintain company knowledge of technical and scientific developments.
• Ensure required documentation and records are maintained to substantiate product label compliance standards, feeding guidelines, statements of nutritional adequacy, and advertising and promotional claims.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality Assurance Teams to ensure ingredients meet the necessary nutritional requirements.
• Assist Consumer Service Team in providing qualified, professional responses to consumer feedback.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales to provide nutritional knowledge to increase sales.
  

Qualifications & Requirements:

• PhD in Animal Nutrition (Companion Animal Nutrition preferred).
• Extensive knowledge of animal nutrition and related sciences.
• Experience in pet food recipe creation (dry, wet, treats and canned).
• Working knowledge of dry food manufacturing processes and operations.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands.
