The Division of Endocrinology at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for an open rank, fixed term faculty member to join our obesity medicine program. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is anticipated to be fully clinical (8 sessions per week).
The successful candidate will join a vibrant and collaborative academic environment and will work within a multidisciplinary team consisting of dietitians, counselors for cognitive behavioral therapy and appetite awareness training, psychologists, and bariatric surgeons. Duties include but are not limited to providing patient care in our outpatient weight management clinic, interacting with and supervising trainees including medical students, residents and fellows, and participating in pharmaceutical clinical trials as appropriate to skill level.
The outpatient practice is located at the UNC Eastowne Medical Office Building (MOB), a state-of-the-art center which opened in 2021 and is located just a few miles from the UNC Medical Center campus. The Eastowne MOB has on-site radiology, laboratory and infusion services, outpatient pharmacy, and ample complimentary parking. This building houses the academic clinical practices of most of the Department of Medicine's divisions, allowing for high-level collaboration, collegiality, and care delivery.
MD/DO, Board Certified/Board Eligible in Endocrinology and Obesity Medicine.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:Emphasis is placed on exemplary clinical skills.
