A day in the Life:
Packaging Room Leader is responsible for the daily oversight of clinical products processed through Primary and Secondary Packaging Operations. This role will work independently, or as part of a team, in the completion of assigned tasks, occasionally without constant supervision. They will also cover multiple rooms (depending on business needs) while acting as the responsible party for personnel assigned to those rooms. The Packaging Room Leader will assist in problem-solving for the Operations team related to rooms on hold and electronic batch records.
- Lead daily safety, quality and delivery goals for assigned jobs.
- Perform in-room task assignments and training for all packaging jobs.
- Perform manual or automated assembly, manufacturing, filling, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceutical products while ensuring adherence to specifications and the highest quality standards.
- Perform and lead line clearance of production rooms.
- Perform basic set-up of machinery used in production
- Act as the primary performer of in-process and AQL inspections and other necessary tasks
- Lead the start-up and closure of the production jobs.
- Perform computer-related tasks to complete necessary duties related to packaging.
- Participate as an active member of Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives.
- Demonstrate and promote Thermo Fisher's 4I Values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
- Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and customer requirements in all areas of responsibility.
- Follow all safety regulations and conduct all activities in a safe & efficient manner.
- Other duties, including overtime, may be assigned to meet business needs.
Keys to Success:Education- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- 1 year experience in Packaging or manufacturing environment
- Proficient in performing and troubleshooting computer related tasks.
- Take initiative, follow through on commitments, and adapt to changing circumstances.
Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesThis position requires hand-eye coordination, dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks with both hands. This includes:
- Working mathematical skills for counting, adding, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.
- Ability to interpret 2D Diagrams and batch paperwork to ensure proper assembly of clinical supplies.
- Must be able to meet physical requirements stated in the Essential Job Functions with little or no exceptions or assistance.
- Ability to work independently, or as a part of a team, in the completion of assigned tasks.
- Possesses the ability to accept and learn from feedback, especially related to Corrective or Preventative Actions.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Ability to work in Primary, Secondary, Refrigerated (2 to 8° C), and Frozen (-20° C) Packaging areas (80-100%)
- Ability to stand continuously (50-80%)
