ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY : C urrently searching for one Part-Time Research Associate Staff to work in the Virtual and Remote Labs for Measuring Food Packaging Properties Grant, College of Agriculture, under the supervision of Dr. Yao Olive Li, Principal Investigator.

ABOUT US : As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Enterprises offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Enterprises offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.

The Enterprises also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Enterprises and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics and the Pepsi Scholarship. In addition, the Enterprises administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Enterprises contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

The research associate staff will assist the PI of the grant to develop and test remote laboratory testing kits for a variety of food packaging materials and applications. It is expected that the research associate staff is responsible to organize and analyze research results and to present them to the PI, write periodical reports on the progress of the project, and present the results in the venues appropriate to the project dissemination purpose.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Master's or above degree holder with 15+ research or industrial experience in related to food product and packaging R&D projects and material property testing experience.

Preferred

• Current lab technician or lecturer affiliated with Cal Poly Pomona or other CSU campuses
• Have research experience in R&D for novel food products or packaging development
• Have experience managing laboratory and presenting research in scientific conferences
• Must be willing to complete training in relation to laboratory safety.

WE OFFER:

• This is a 4-5 hour per week, non-benefited, non-exempt position
• $40.00 an hour
