Job Summary
Summary Responsible for assisting clinical professionals in providing behavioral and mental health services to patients in a hospital setting. This position supports patient care through assessments, research, and administrative tasks under supervision, gaining foundational experience in social work and behavioral health. Essential Functions
-Assist in patient assessments and collect relevant behavioral health information under supervision.
-Support the implementation of therapeutic interventions, including individual and group counseling sessions.
-Participate in clinical research projects, collecting and analyzing data related to patient outcomes and behavioral health trends.
-Provide educational resources to patients and families on mental health, wellness strategies, and community support services.
-Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring all documentation aligns with hospital and regulatory standards.
-Collaborate with social workers, behavioral health professionals, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and follow-up.
-Assist in crisis intervention situations, providing support to stabilize patients under guidance.
-Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.

Experience
Experience or internships in social work, mental health, or a related field 0-1 year preferred but not necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to provide empathetic care and support to patients dealing with behavioral and mental health challenges.
- Capable of assisting in research, data collection, and analyzing patient information.
- Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and patient interactions efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility in handling a variety of tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced clinical environment.
