RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Procedural Tech Artist in Redmond, WA.Overview:We are seeking a talented Procedural Artist to join our dynamic team. As a Procedural Artist, you will be responsible for creating procedural content generation systems and tools to enhance the efficiency and quality of content creation for our interactive experiences. You will collaborate closely with artists, designers, and programmers to develop innovative procedural techniques that enable the generation of diverse and dynamic content.Responsibilities:- Procedural Tech Artist will design and implement procedural content generation systems using various tools and scripting languages, including Houdini
- Develop algorithms and techniques for generating terrain, textures, vegetation, structures, and other game assets procedurally
- Collaborate with artists and designers to understand requirements and translate them into procedural solutions
- Optimize procedural systems for performance and scalability across different platforms and hardware configurations
- Create user-friendly interfaces and tools to empower artists and designers to utilize procedural techniques effectively
- As a Procedural Tech Artist, you will research and stay up to date with the latest advancements in procedural content generation and related technologies
- Test and iterate on procedural systems to ensure they meet quality standards and artistic vision
- Document procedures, algorithms, and tools to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Game Development, or a related field
- Proven experience in developing procedural content generation systems for games, simulations, or other interactive media
- Proficiency in using Houdini for procedural content generation, including knowledge of Houdini Digital Assets (HDAs) and VEX scripting
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and mathematics relevant to procedural content generation
- Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine, including knowledge of their scripting and shader languages
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, iterative development environment
- Portfolio demonstrating previous work in procedural content generation, including tools, algorithms, and implemented systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with artists, designers, and programmers
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, Python
- Experience with scripting languages like HLSL, GLSL, or Shader Grap
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
