Process Engineer Co-Op

A Process Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will be assigned to special projects and will assist other engineers on major projects and process engineering. Projects will focus on improving facility efficiency and final product quality. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

Term

September 8 - December 19, 2025

Full time Co-Op/Internship. 36-40 hours a week on site.

What will you do?

Day to day work assignments assigned by the supervisor and could include:

  • Troubleshooting to identify root cause of problems
  • Tracing of pipes and equipment in the field to correlate with the existing drawing
  • Assisting with equipment efficiency tests and developing a process flow diagram for a new opportunity
  • Mass and energy balances for various types of chemical processes
  • Computer modeling
  • Assist Turnaround and Repair Day equipment inspections as required
  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), lab personnel, and contractors
  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment
  • Adhering to Mosaic's mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies

What do you need for this role?
  • Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Materials and Metallurgic Engineering
  • Completed Material and Energy Balances or Thermodynamics class prior to internship/co-op
  • 2.75 GPA or higher
  • For Louisiana ONLY: TWIC Card or ability to get a TWIC card.
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment
  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is required
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete thefollowing:Post-offer/pre-placementdrug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
