A Product Quality Engineer (PQE) will ensure that the quality of Meta's hardware products consistently exceed our requirements and customer expectations. In this role, you will develop and implement quality control systems into our hardware manufacturing supply chain. You will use these systems to provide insights and feedback to the hardware design and manufacturing process engineering teams (and others) that enable a design that is capable to support mass production with high cosmetic, functional, dimensional quality.

Product Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Define, document, implement, and maintain a Product Quality Plan (PQP) that documents quality control requirements for manufacturing the product, component or module. Includes details on Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process QC (IPQC), Outgoing QC (OQC), and Quality Audits.
  • Qualification of manufacturing processes (initial and all copy lines) in development and mass production. Qualification requires measurement and analysis of the process capability - dimensional, functional, and cosmetic.
  • Specification review and setting with cross functional partners - cosmetic, dimensional and functional.
  • Dimensional measurement ownership. Working with vendors to develop, define, and document measurement tools and methods in Measurement Standard Operating Procedures (MSOPs). Qualification of dimensional measurement methods through Gauge Reliability and Repeatability (GR&R) and cross machine correlation (IQC OQC correlation), and Calibration (evaluation of the measurement methods to known standards).
  • Assessing, selecting, and collaborating with suppliers while ensuring adherence to quality standards and module quality plans.
  • Establish traceability throughout the hardware product supply chain.
  • Work closely with internal Meta teams and external vendors to improve functional and cosmetic yields, utilizing various tools and techniques.
  • Analyze test data using statistical methods to identify issues and ensure compliance
  • Develop and maintain tools and processes for efficient requirements definition, testing, and result visualization
  • Analyze, and resolve Product Quality issues impacting factory, supply chain, or field using Quality tools and Failure Analysis techniques


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
  • BS in Engineering plus 2+ years of experience in product engineering
  • Experience working with minimal guidance
  • Experience with Quality tools
  • Experience debugging hardware failures and identifying root cause in either consumer electronics, aerospace, automotive, or medical devices products


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with high volume consumer electronics products

$102,000/year to $164,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
