Azenta is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to become a key member of the corporate revenue recognition team. In this hands-on role, the Senior Revenue Accountant will drive efficiencies in systems and processes supporting timely comprehensive accurate revenue recognition for Azenta' s major business functions by performing revenue accounting and analysis while being a valued collaboration partner for those functions. This position will be a critical member of the accounting team and will be instrumental to ensuring the proper accounting of routine and non-routine transactions.

Who You Are:

  • Review of contracts and transactions identifying multiple performance obligations
  • Focus on analysis of and determining appropriate deferred revenue
  • Generate and post revenue related journal entries
  • Perform preclosing activities relative to all Sample Management and Multiomics lines of business
  • Review and format critical detail data supporting ASC 606 determination for significant revenue streams
  • Participate in process development projects and in collaboration with department management guide development.
  • Propose and develop within management's definitions policies around practices and key systems.
  • Reviews and Scopes general practices and related data to recommend process improvements and precise reporting
  • Prepare ASC 606 related schedules for disclosure and related management review
  • Perform and or review key SOX controls maintaining documentation and follow-up as needed
  • Key member of the monthly financial close team; works closely with accounting team to meet close deadlines by providing timely revenue accounting guidance
  • Compiles and reviews entity level data aggregated for SEC filing and other critical reporting
  • Provides audit support for moderate to complex areas requiring estimates & judgment

What You Bring:
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience, 3+ plus years of revenue recognition experience applying ASC 606 standards to transactions
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Proven experience mentoring and guiding either subordinate accounting staff and or order operations
  • Public company experience is a plus
  • Ability to work in dynamic, fast paced, fast growing company
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to initiate process change resulting in precision and gained efficiencies
  • Ability to research, apply, and document applicable accounting guidance
  • MS Excel skills at an advanced level
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud is a plus
  • Experience with Tableau, Hyperion and other data analytic software is a plus
  • Experience with Revenue Recognition Software a plus
  • CPA, with Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
