This role is reports into Storage and Systems Services team In Infrastructure Platforms organization. This organization enables PayPal's Nextgen experiences to be accessible by 430M+ merchants and consumers in 200 countries. You will be joining a highly talented global organization that is responsible fordelivering Global Network Services (Global Edge, Cloud networking, Backbone, DC Networks/NetSec, Corp Network, Telecom and Operations),Data Center Services (Physical Data Centers, and PoPs),Systems and Storage Services (Hybrid-Cloud Block, File, and Object storage Infrastructure),Compute Infrastructure (Physical, Virtual and Cloud compute infra engineering, SecOps),Hybrid-Multi-Cloud Center of Excellence (GCP, AWS, & Azure), and Business Units infrastructure (Xoom, Braintree and Hyperwallet).

Your day-to-day

This role involves collaborating with various IT teams to align storage solutions with business needs and implementing best practices in data management and protection.

•Build, Scale and Secure PayPal's Payment infrastructure platform.

•Work in a heterogeneous environment consisting of Linux systems and enterprise storage solutions.

•Apply modern engineering methodologies as Infrastructure as Code, Software-Defined Storage and containerization to scale PayPal's growing infrastructure.

•Lead critical storage projects to build scalable solution for PayPal applications.

•Work closely with stakeholders, including IT leadership and business units, to understand storage needs and align solutions with business objectives.

•Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior storage engineers and other IT staff.

•Oversee the deployment of storage solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

•Collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership team.

•Work with IT management and Finance team on budget planning and cost management for storage solutions

•Engage with vendors and suppliers for procurement and support of storage technologies.

•Conduct capacity planning and forecasting to ensure there are adequate storage resources to support business growth.

What do you need to bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  

• 5+ years of experience in storage technologies, and architecture,
  

• Proven experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud and Azure or on-prem deployments.
  

• Strong understanding of cloud-native storage solutions
  

• Expertise in storage security, compliance, backup, DR, Ransomware and best practices.
  

• Enterprise in SAN, NAS file systems, Block or Object Storage technologies.
  

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  

• Relevant certifications (e.g., NetApp, Hitachi, PureStorage, MinIO, HCI solutions) are a plus.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is
$96900 to $234300
