Educational and Experience Requirement:Associates Degree in related field. Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing, Business, Psychology, Communications, Student Personnel Administration, Human Resources, Social Science, or related field preferred. Three years of experience in a related field required. Prefer experience in a college career center, college recruiting, staffing or placement agency, or human resources. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position:Ensures that recruitment activity and employer engagement through the Career Success Center are effectively and efficiently coordinated across all colleges and areas of Sam Houston State University. Helps lead a cohesive strategy in engaging employers so that all students, regardless of major or background, can pursue internship and employment opportunities. Assists in the effort to grow and maintain an elite brand and various set of employers engaging with the campus. Provide BEST IN CLASS customer service to all SHSU employer partners.
Primary Responsibilities:Manages the incoming communications of employers and other external partners seeking to recruit at the university. Leverages the Career Center's CSM platform and to manage employer relationships and promotes relevant internship and/or full-time career opportunities to students and other audiences. In conjunction with the Manager of Employer Engagement, the Digital Creative Coordinator, and the Administrative Associate, provides assistance for managing the CSM for the office. Tracks data, engagement, and metrics on employer engagement activity, including in person activity, events, online events, interviews, and online job postings. In conjunction with the Manager of Employer Engagement, assists in identifying internship opportunities for students in all majors and programs. Serves as the support for team events and activities, coordinates with other Career Success staff and relevant offices across campus. Coordinates with the Marketing, Communications & Events team to promote and execute relevant employer events and outreach. Responsible for coordinating the on-campus recruiting program for employers. Increase employers' participation in on-campus recruiting and career fairs. Supports the Manager of Employer Engagement during meetings with faculty, alumni, and employers to build support for and the participation in Career Success Center activities and programs. Provides support to the Manager of Employer Engagement on recruiting and securing employers for the Career Center's Corporate Sponsorship Program. Will routinely make follow-up calls or sends out emails to employers pertaining to upcoming events like Career Fairs, Corporate Sponsorship Opportunity, other employer events, and connecting to opportunities to recruit Bearkats. Will also support the Manager of Employer Engagement on our Corporate Sponsorship Program for employers, scheduling meetings with the Director and Manager with employers, makes follow up calls, and works with University Advancement to ensure sponsorship payments are secured. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Knowledge of employer recruitment efforts, exceptional customer service, higher education, career development services and effective job search strategies helpful. Requires effective skills in oral, written, and interpersonal communication. Must be proficient in computer usage. Occasional travel is required in this position.
Up to 80% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor. At least 20% of this position MUST BE performed in-office.
