The OSUWMC Supply Chain Department supports the medical center's mission by securing the highest-value products and services necessary for clinical and business operations. We partner with our clinicians, staff and suppliers to drive optimal pricing, distribution and utilization. In addition we strive to set the benchmark in providing supply chain value, utilizing best practices to support continuous improvement in patient care. The OSUWMC Supply Chain Department is responsible for all aspects of the health system non-labor expenses, comprising approximately $700M in annual supply, service and capital purchases.
Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Manager or Assistant Director executes and administers a coordinated lean supply support system that operates efficiently and meets the needs of the clinical areas within OSUWMC. Stocks and manages supply inventory levels in clinical areas. Performs all supply chain tasks in the procedural areas to include forecasting, requisitioning, inventory control, and implant/consignment management. Manages case picking of supplies and collaborates with clinical staff to maintain accuracy of preference cards and is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the two bin Kanban system. Communicates with clinical and supply chain staff, and vendors regarding supply chain issues, including but not limited to, expiration tracking, cycle counting, annual physical inventory, par level analysis, product trials, product conversions, product discontinuations, preference card management, storage location flow and overall organization.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED and two years of inventory management experience.
Desired Qualifications
Two Year associate degree or technical degree in Operations, Business, Healthcare or relevant field and 3 - 5 years of experience in Operations, Business, Healthcare or relevant field.
