Overview

The intern will gain exposure to the basics of clinical medical writing, including the various document types and their respective functions in the context of clinical development. He/she will have hands-on opportunity to author, review, and edit a clinical document, and help to create/manage a document. In addition, he/she will have the opportunity to interact with a large crossfunctional team and have exposure to the entire development operations organization.

Responsibilities

During the internship, the individual will:

  • Learn the various types of clinical documents and their respective roles in clinical development
  • Have hands-on authoring experience - expected to author, review, and edit a clinical document, taking it to completion
  • Focus on a project within Medical Writing and Trial Transparency & Disclosure, with limited exposure to other Dev Ops groups: Clinical Trial Operations, Clinical Business Operations, Clinical Program Optimization and Innovation
  • Attendance of Clinical Study Team and Dev Ops meetings to learn more about the Drug Development process and how cross-functional teams work
Qualifications:
  • Interested in pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Currently in full-time pursuit of a Bachelor's, Master's, or advanced level degree in a science related or accounting discipline e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Nursing, Accounting
  • High level understanding of what clinical trials are and their purpose
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Individuals must demonstrate the ability to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace.


Salary Range

$23 - $24 an hour
