RESPONSIBILITIES
• Directly supervise labor crews in the concrete operations
• Confer with and direct supervisory personnel in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays
• Responsible for organizing manpower
• Ensure labor crews meet timely production
• Coordinate with various vendors to schedule deliveries
• Order procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to
work schedules
• Schedule maintenance activities
• Diagnose and repair equipment involved in the concrete
• Confer with supervisory engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and
materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods
• Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules
• Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used & costs, and adjusts work schedules
as indicated by reports
• Ability to communicate with technical staff acknowledging technical requirements and
technical instructions
• Cost control
• Adhere and perform Health and Safety rules/regulations
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; associate's degree preferred
• 5+ years' experience in a Foreman/Superintendent position
• Strong background in Concrete Formwork and Placement
• Experience with transportation projects and bridge work
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ability to apply common sense understanding in order to deal with problems involving
several concrete variables
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
• Factory experience a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
