Aerospace Painter II- A

Merritt Island, FL

Contract Position

Responsibilities:

• Perform paint and seal processes on New Glenn vehicles, including surface preparation, masking, and chemical handling.
• Apply paint, foam insulation, logos, and thermal protection systems (TPS) to flight hardware via hand and spray applications.
• Conduct surface preparation, adhesive application, and vacuum bagging of large aerospace structures.
• Follow work instructions and ensure product conformity by checking for defects and meeting specifications.
• Adhere to safety protocols when handling chemicals and materials.
• Support production shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: 2+ years in aerospace coatings and thermal protection applications.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in applying primers, topcoats, foam insulation, sealants, adhesives, and thermal protection systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures for chemical handling.
  • Basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office).
• Physical Requirements: Must be respirator qualified, able to lift items >50 lbs, and comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with aerospace thermal protection systems or coatings.
  • Industry certification, trade school training, or related degree.
  • Hands-on leadership experience in technical settings.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience handling large aerospace components and working in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.
