The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary

The Specialized Cargo Team based in Europe, Singapore, and UAE (Dubai) manages oversized, heavy, high-value and mission critical cargo transportation which often requires synchronized delivery from different locations to our worldwide customers. The team is looking for a Transportation Analyst based in Morton, IL who will manage the transportation flows of CGM (Caterpillar Global Mining) Factory Managed Parts for HMS (Hydraulic Mining Shovels), ERS (Electric Rope Shovels) and DGL (Draglines) from US suppliers and SMIL facility to our CAT global dealer network. This is a great opportunity to be part of the exciting Project Cargo world within an international team.

• This position is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation
  
• Travel for this role is expected to be 10% or less, may be domestic and / or international
  

What You Will Do

• Efficiently designs, plans, implements and optimizes the transportation service solutions for HMS/ERS/DGL flows from US suppliers and SMIL to dealers
  
• Identifies, investigates, and resolves problems with shipments to ensure accurate and on-time delivery, and develops initiatives to improve service and lower cost
  
• Identifies, analyzes, develops, and administers the implementation of cost-effective transportation solutions that support Caterpillar's quality, velocity, and cost objectives
  
• Monitors transportation execution milestones with event and disruption management
  
• Manages the performance of Service Providers through Key Performance Indicators
  
• Ensures required visibility in EVIZ for our dealers
  
• Identifies, analyzes, develops, and implements improved transportation methods that support Caterpillar's quality, velocity and cost objectives using Lean methodology
  
• Develops, implements, documents, maintains and updates standard operations procedures and processes with our partners (facilities, suppliers, service providers and dealers)
  
• Initiates and maintains customer interactions to align with their business/priorities
  

What You Have

• Transportation : Knowledge of and experience with the means of transporting materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers the manufacturing facility. Knowledge of the global transportation market, international supply chain and its cost drivers. Experience with the means of transporting materials, flows to manufacturing facilities and customers.
  
• Logistics Management : Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies.
  
• Supply Chain Management : Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies, practices and tools for controlling the whole processes.
  
• Analytical Thinking : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  
• Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Summary Pay Range:
$87,480.00 - $131,280.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
